We are looking for volunteers who may wish to serve on our Board of Directors to assist us in spreading our message and cause.
A 35+ year veteran of the direct marketing, wholesale and retail industries, George Mollo has served in senior executive positions for several direct marketing companies, including "start-ups" and "turn-arounds.” These companies included Lillian Vernon Corporation, Genesis Direct, Disney Direct, and J. Crew Group, Inc. before starting his own consulting company in 2000 (www.gjmassoc.com/about.htm). His hands-on experience at all levels of management, including financial, operational, systems and merchandising, has enabled hm to consult with numerous companies to establish cost cutting measures and implement long term profit strategies. He is also on the board of the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce, since 2013 and as Treasurer from 2014 to present.
A seasoned fundraising professional, John Modzelewski has experience in all facets of institutional advancement from capital campaigns and annual funds to special events, government and foundation grants, public relations and sports information. For the past 25 years as Vice President with Ghiorsi & Sorrenti, Inc. (GSI), John specialized in capital campaigning working with his clients to raise $450 million. Clients included secondary and higher education institutions, a broad range of healthcare providers, religious orders and museums. Prior to GSI, he served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Mercy College, in Westchester County, NY, and as Chief Development Officer at Carlow University, in Pittsburgh, PA. A New City resident, John holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Duquesne University and an MBA in Organizational Behavior from Iona College.
Jerry's career spanned 33 years in the retail industry as a buyer and inventory planner for A&S, Bamberger’s and Macys. In 2006, he migrated to the supply side as an inventory analyst for a home textiles import company serving all major retailers across the country. Jerry grew up on Long Island, earned an MBA at Adelphi University and moved to his current home in Nanuet in 1980. He retired in August 2017 after a 43 year career. He currently serves as Secretary on the Nanuet Chamber board and enjoys walking dogs as a temporary job when not gardening, running, bicycling or fishing.
Adrienne Carey is a Nanuet resident raising her 4 daughters alongside her husband of 25 years. Three of her girls graduated from Nanuet High School and her youngest attends A. MacArthur Barr Middle School.
Adrienne grew up in Rockland County, attending Suffern School. She graduated from Suffern High School and Rockland County BOCES for Practical Nursing. Adrienne received her Bachelors in Nursing at Dominican College in Blauvelt.

Adrienne was appointed and served on the Clarkstown Town Board in 2016. She has a long career as a Registered Nurse working in the healthcare profession for over 30 years. Adrienne a hospital administrator as Hackensack UMC mountainside Hospital.
Adrienne's business experiences include:
• Starting up medical offices for growing practices to meet the needs within a community
• Recruited by facilities to look for efficiencies, provide quality and optimize services.
• Acquires new sources of revenue to facilities, research, business plans & financial growth
• Worked on the Town Board to provide a business sense keeping in mind the needs of tax payers without compromising the quality services we all enjoy.
Adrienne cares about Nanuet and its future and is proud to continue to work for Nanuet families.
Helene grew up in Nanuet and has been a resident for more than 20 years. She is the second of four sisters who grew up in a family that champions volunteerism and community involvement. Helene is proud that in less than three years after graduating from Nanuet High School, she obtained her Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from the University of Delaware.
Helene’s passion for volunteer-work started at an early age as a Daisy with the Girl Scouts of America. She has always valued time volunteering within the community. Her work renovating a food pantry, in our neighboring town of Spring Valley, earned her the Girls Scout Gold Award which is awarded annually to only a small handful of scouts who successfully complete a project proven to have a significant positive impact on the world and community. She has also traveled to other communities in the US to help build homes for families in need with the Habitat for Humanity organization.
In 2019, Helene went back to school and obtained a Paralegal certificate. She is currently employed in Nanuet as a Paralegal at a Commercial Litigation and Real Estate Law Firm.
Elise has spent the last 25 years working in a variety of financial and marketing roles. The companies include Unilever, Georgia Pacific, and Tetley. She currently works for PDI, Inc. the leading manufacturer of pre-moistened wipes in the Healthcare and Foodservice Industries, as a Senior Product Manager. She focuses her time on developing and launching new products into the marketplace. She received her undergraduate degree from Northeastern University and MBA from the University of New Haven. Elise moved to Rockland County 4 ½ years ago, and now resides in Nanuet with her daughter and Husband. She loves to travel, cook and is an avid reader.
Sharon runs the day-to-day operation for the Home Delivered Meal Program, Social Work and Transportation. She joined the Meals on Wheels team in May of 2013 as the Volunteer Coordinator. Sharon has achieved success in recruiting and retaining over 400 volunteers, and running special programs such as blizzard boxes and the Mutts and Meows Pet Pantry. Sharon's past administrative experience is in operations in the fields of home health care and corporate-level restaurant management with a Fortune 500 company. Sharon is also extremely active in the community and volunteers with the scouts, local schools, and other organizations.
Carolyn Piranio grew up in Bardonia, New York and is the eldest of four siblings. Carolyn did not move far, as she and her husband Joseph have made Nanuet their home for the past 20 years. Carolyn formerly worked as a journalist for a Rockland-based newspaper and later had an extensive career as a technical editor/writer at a top 10 nationally ranked engineering firm. Her editing and writing skills have served her well in her current occupation helping to manage the office at a successful prosthetics and orthotics company. Carolyn’s daily dealings with doctors and insurance companies have helped add to her skillset. She is a member of the Lions Club of Nanuet and can be found out and about on various weekends fundraising for a variety of local and national charities. As a member of the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce, Carolyn is judging entries for the Chamber’s 2018 scholarship awards. Carolyn is a graduate of Clarkstown Senior High School South and Marymount College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a Journalism Concentration.
Linda is Broker/Owner of Area Pro Realty of Rockland. She is a published writer and pursues this passion when not busy with real estate. Her other hobbies include music, theater and art. She cherishes time with family and friends and can often be spotted on Interstates 81 and 40 beating a path back and forth from New York to Tennessee. She was in the first graduating class at Nanuet High School to allow early graduation and received her diploma in three years while working after school. Working a wide variety of jobs—cashier, hotel desk clerk, substitute teacher--Linda put herself through college and received a Teaching Certification (grades 7-12 English, History and Government) from Tennessee Technological University and taught public school in Clay County, TN for four years. She home-schooled her two children for three years while returning to TTU for her MA in English. While teaching college courses as an adjunct, she also began working in real estate. She started her own real estate brokerage in 2013 and has recently opened a new company, “Creekside Realty” in Tennessee.
